I have been there many times, but only after coming to Fred Miranda did I know about the Thor's Well, somehow I never saw it myself while I was there, must have been high tide or something.

Thanks, you need a high tide for this spot. At low tide, it a hole in the rock
Hmm....tide guide for the coast April 21 shows a 1 ft low at 3:45, and a 6.5 ft high at 10 PM..so it looks like your shot was near sunset, thus about 5 feet of tide height

I guess the tide was coming in,,but not not at the high point yet!!
Right, you want a higher tide, but not peak.. You might be in for it at peak tide. No other preparations other than watching the weather and tide timing. I had a pint at the Drift Inn if that counts
