p.1 #1 · Best book on people photo PP

Hi, quick and easy one. I've been on my own path (RAW + ACR + fiddling around) trying to make skin colors look like skin colors.

I would be willing to buy any book that I can ignore 99% of, if it gave guidelines for getting skin tones correct! Any recommendations?

This is the book I use. It's written by Lee Varis and Rick Sammon.

Number two on my list is Scott Kelby's book on retouching.

I think the Family of Man exhibit is still in print. Look at the pictures.....

Old, and probably not what you had in mind, but a great stimulus/motivator.....

Books are so superannuated by now in the world of photo retouching. To be frank, your ability to see is far more important than anything else. If you're really interested in the subject, here are some great DVDs:
