+1 @ Scott
The texture kinda conflicts with the natural textures (brick/wood/siding) of the subject matter. Maybe better served for a different subject. I typically think textures either as a means for hiding things (banding, CA, blotchiness, etc.) that I can't otherwise fix well. That, or to add interest to with expansive uninteresting areas. This one has plenty of natural texture & interest in it, the texture (while some may find artisticly creative), imo steals from it rather than enhance it. Curious to see the pier shot with the texture applied for comparison.
Diggin' the pier lines. Nice crop into the low corners.
With my usual "blue snow" bent, the sand shadows left of the pier are showing a bit cool. I might prefer a more neutral WB for the shadows, which would of course warm the morning sidelighting in the process (change the mood/vibe) and then maybe mask the sky/water (protecting from WB changes) to retain them more cool (or WB of choice).

Like the first pier shot. Love the second.
Thanks for your thoughts, glad you enjoy them.
My preferences are often more toward BW or variations there from. In this case, I cannot decide; both the color and BW appeal but in differing ways. Guess 1 of each will cover that
