Is there any protection for buyers in this situation?

I was ready to close a deal on a lens, and the person said they had to get their housemates PP address. I decided not to buy the lens, FWIW...

Paypal is a free service. If they don't qualify then they have a seious issue. Sending money to another persons account will not protect you. I am sure that is covered in the terms and conditions. Just like giving a deposit is not covered.You have to pay in full for protection.

I've run into this a few times (with well established members) Just know who you're
dealing with and it's no biggie. I'll even ship to someones friend or parents if that's
what it takes. 400+ transactions...I've probably seen it all. ALL good, as he knocks
on wood

I have done this before and never had a problem but if it was a newbie no post no way.

I would stay away from this type of transaction also Michelle.
Another item will come around.
