As the subject says Will the L plate (RRS specifically) for the Nikon D700 fit the D 800?

I tried it as soon as my D800 arrived. I'll also confirm it will not work.

I've been using my D700/MBD-10 RRS L plate on my D800/MBD12. Is it perfect, no... Does it work, yes...
