You finally nailed down the Goblins! Perfect scene.. spooky somewhat!
The first shot - very nice tonality I see here.
The second shot - interesting foreground, for sure!!!

Hi Kee,
Yeah, I feel very happy with the way these turned out. But you know, there is just so much more there and I am itching to get back there and shoot again.

Jim, I really like both shots. #1 is my favorite for the better light, and #2 for the clean composition.
In #1, on the left horizon, and perhaps at the base of the hill on the extreme left edge below the horizon the bright turquoise seems a bit distracting. A most minor nit, or really, not even so much as that. You have done a masterful job of capturing the incredible beauty, expanse and stillness of the desert eve, punctuated with goblins and moons.
Hi Jan,
Thanks so much for your comments. That area did catch my eye also a bit, but I thought I would let it go for now and see what others thought. But it might be a good idea to go back and tone that area down just a bit.
#2 has a very meditative quality about it, and the moon adds a lot to it. Lovely photo. The first one is more interesting in light of having seen #2, which helps to give a sense of scale.
Two great images Jim. I think #1 is my favorite for the wide view and additional colors in the sky, but I like #2 a lot too. I'll have to visit here one day too.
Two excellent shots. The last one is my favorite. I think you got all the elements ( foreground, middle and the background) working together in that one.

Jim, very interesting location , both are very nice I think I like the more intimate scene in #2 to me it gives a better perspective of these formations against a sweet backdrop , the moon doesn't hurt either . NIce job ! regards, Dean

"The Goblins" is on our list of things to see. Images like these just moved it up the list. I think you have 2 exceptional images. Great work. Jim
Hey Jim,
Thanks so much. And you for sure should get out there, it's a place that is well worth the visit. And it's not far from Capital Reef, so it would be a great area to spend a few days in. I am hoping I can do that next time as from looking at the map of Goblin Valley, there is a lot more to see and I have only just touched the surface of whats there.

Thanks so much Dean! Yeah, that moon was a very pleasant surprise, and it worked out very well in adding a nice item of interest in the shot.

Jim
