Today I noticed that this mourning dove was sitting and really soaking up some sun! Usually, if I approach this particular bird in my backyard it flies away before I can get within 10 meters, but today it let me get really close. So much so that I was able to swap out bodies and get to MFD with the 500/4 + TC1.4! It was there since 10am, and didn't leave until about 7pm, so I was worried that it was injured, but it was probably resting up for the incoming snow storm!

Thanks Roberta! It's nice when the subject doesn't move except to give you good head angles morris wrote:
2 and 3 are my picks and possibly it's sitting on an egg
Morris
Thanks Morris! I don't think it's an egg as they don't lay eggs on rocks, and I would think it's too early as well.

Thanks Tam,
It's the first time I've actually been able to photograph it, so I am pleased :-)

A nice set Charles. 3 is my pick too, but there seems to be a slight greenish color cast ~ Ron
Thanks Ron, I think it may be the BG giving it the cast, I'll check out my PP when I get home.

Love your dove. They don't lay eggs on the ground so no nest. Don
Thanks for the clarification Don! Glad you liked it!
