Italian's La Stampa, published two images showing photographer Dylan Martinez with the 35-pound Nikkor 1200-1700mm f/5.6~8.0s P ED IF lens.
His team was waiting to capture the new pope at Saint Peter's Square.
The so-called "Mother of all zooms" has 18 elements in 13 groups (3 x EDs), 2°-1°30' angle of view and minimum focusing distance of 32 ft. More specs

I was wondering how is he going to hold that bazooka before looking at his pictures?
After looking at his pictures and found out that he had it mounted on a tripod, I wonder how is he going to move it if people start standing in front of him when the new Pope Peter VIII will be announce?

Well, now that it's all over I hope he got his image! I suspect the lighting might have been an issue since it was evening there when the new Pope made his appearance.

Did anyone pay attention that he used a Canon Camera?
Look at the photo of him and look at the camera, and the strap - it ain't NO NIKON Cam at the back end!!!
