Lighting gurus, please advise me what do you think on this power pack with dynalite 1015 heads. I know this model has been discontinued but it's in excellent condition with very light use, local photographer is selling his set up for the price that I can't really pass. Btw will be using this with 5d mkIII for small studio home set up. Thanks for any inputs!
They are great little packs, especially for location work. Extremely light, compact, and dependable. I always preferred the 2040 heads, but sure the 1015 works fine too. Add one of the Buff VML batteries and you have a very versatile kit that produces great light.
The only issue with the 1015 is the use of grids or other small modifiers that will enclose the flash head. BUt otherwise, good stuff, very light and small, pretty quick recycle, good features
The M500 packs allow you to combine channel A + channel B, to get 500w-s output from a single head. Putting a 2040 head on it gets no more light, but it provides a fan for cooling when the head is used in a softbox, particularly if you are using the modeling light constantly.
