Eighteen-foot raft, no motor, and one professional oars person at the helm.
The rest of us just held on for dear life.
Here are two rafts shooting Lava Rapids, the most difficult along the river.
#1 Entering okay.
#2 The force of the rapids ripped the oars out of the pro's hands, and the raft floated the rest of the way on its own.
#3 All the other other rafts made it through cleanly.
Including mine- which shoved off a few minutes after I took these shots.
Thanks Douglas and Ray.
It was November so the upper elevations at the rims were very cold.
But at the river the air was warm, although the shade was much cooler.
Because I mostly scan slides and then convert them for B&W Forum- it greatly pleases me when a nice comment is made about the conversions.
