That's a pretty interesting flare. I presume you were shooting through some kind of textured glass? It's a gorgeous shot. You didn't ask for c&c, but I would have discolored that one red spot to the left of them over the water.
I was thinking a window screen but that is probably too fine to show up. Fence sounds like a better guess. I know if it was 12 degrees out I'd probably be behind the window.
Very cool creative idea and it came out lovely. I like the image as it stands, each one of us is probably going to want to change at least one thing because we all have different creative angles but the image as you have produced it is very nice!
