The poorest in Dhaka live along the railroad tracks in shelters made of scrap materials. They live and play between the tracks, and the kids scamper away when the train passes through:
I met this young man along the riverbank (a place called Sadarghat.) The coat hides him but he appears to have lost his legs below the knees. He was part of a group of boys working or hanging out along the wharves:

And each image also tells a story.
The boy with damaged legs seems to be wearing shoes that are on backward. For a reason, of course, but I can only guess that it's for balance. And even with that, I can't guess why that works.
