Another OT question. What is the front diameter of the lens hood?
Front 15.5 cm OD
Back 13 cm OD
It reverses well (no rubs) with an A.S. replacement foot but I leave mine locked in shooting
position 24/7/365 It's a stout metal sucker, makes a great "stand" to set 'er down for a rest.

TM, as usual when you post the smart crowd listens. You make my interest grow for the 200 f2 with those great shots. Is it an easy choice for you to pick the 200 f2 over the 300 f2.8? I just can't make up my mind for a D4 mate. Speed is always good as I love wildlife in those last minutes of light, and the BB I shoot is sometimes in dungeons. But dang, shooting at f2 has to give you a pretty thin slice depth of field in focus. And, while speed is king, reach is always a challenge on a FF trying to shoot wildlife.
Always interested in your thoughts!

I just plucked one from the FM buy-sell section. I'll probably wait for the new Sigma 120-300/2.8 to save money and have a zoom. Trying to get the best of both worlds.

Are you shooting with the VR I or VR II? If both do you see a difference in AF speed?

TM, I am posting from Flickr and exif is there Settings: 1/2000 f/5.6 800 ISO. Not sure why my link didn't embed. I was out of range - 30meters so its smeared.

Ahhh, was interested in metering choice/WB/EC My shots range from 40-75 yds or so, no noise @ 100% crops
so something's amiss...settings?! Just curious...

I don't know how I missed this set Will?? Well done for sure - no bull. Well geez - looks like there actually is some bull... ~ Ron
Glad you found it (my shameless link no doubt) Ron...thanks a lot!
Love your posts, learn a ton and the images are pleasing to my eye. No cranes in NJ, I don't think many would tune in to see the state bird, the mosquito and the seagull. Love it.
