Although I like/need a grip today I shot without one for over 20 years. And I still find myself ignoring it, when I immediatelly decide while shooting changed format comes better.
After a couple of shots or sometimes minutes I usually realize that using the grips release button is much more comfortable.

Ralphie, I hapen to know her.........friends call her Svetlana. The last time I was in Leningrad, she was all over me......and I kept telling her "It's not meant to be, Svetlana, give it up, I am a happily married man. Find someone else your own age."

I couldn't find any self portraits. Here is a crop out of a snapshot taken by my wife. We were on the way back from Misty Fjords in Southeast Alaska.

I had no idea people used the horrible included straps with their camera bodies.. looks like 95% of this thread uses them.

how else will people know which brand they shoot

the one that came with mine even has "D700" printed across it, just in case someone couldn't tell I was shooting full frame
