Two more images of the entrance of the Upper Antelope Canyon made using light painting. One is from the outside and the other from the inside of the canyon. Thanks to Lionel Bigthumb for giving me this opportunity for making these images. The quiet night in the canyon makes for a real spiritual experience and I encourage everyone to try it out. Many of the slot canyons were a place of refuge to the Navajos when they were under attack and you can really experience how it must have felt for those souls when they were hiding there.
Your comments and criticism are very welcome as always.
Thank you.
Terrific work. The second is a stunner. I assume it's a blended image. If so, how many frames were bracketed? Actually, I would be interested in hearing more about the image. The light in the sky seems to be on the left. Yet there is a shadow being cast by the rock on the left that indicates light from behind. Was artificial light used? Would appreciate more details.
Thank you guys for the kind words. The credit for the set up goes to Lionel Bigthumb.
Ed, these are single exposure images, not blended. The light in the sky is the light from the City of Page and the Navajo Generating Station that are located west of the canyon.
