Here are two images, with different post processing. The first one is as is, with the golden sunlight reflecting but the greenish colors still visible. The second one is post processed with pulling some curves to enhance the golden colors. The theme is simplicity. The second one is a little gaudy but appears to say simplicity better because there is no other colors to distract. Which one do you prefer and why?
They both are cool looking, and it's interesting to see the difference you were able to create. I actually think I prefer #1 better as the green/gold combo is really elegant looking I think...

AMaji,
An excellent initial image, to be sure.
Sometimes I'm too literal, but I prefer the first because streams usually pick up the greens of the plants on their edges.
Brown streams means muddy, and your second interpretation isn't muddy- yet it's brown. The two aren't compatible to me.

If you intend it as "art" that changes things.
In any case, it's your photo- not mine .
I prefer the first because of the range of subtle colores that are captured in the water. The second image is stripped of those subtle colors, and looks very flat by comparison.
Nice concept and execution. While I understand the concept of the second, I think the first still pulls is off better, and I just find the green and gold combination more visually appealing. I agree about "simplifying" the upper left corner, but otherwise wouldn't change anything about the first.
