I lived for a few years in SW Utah and- with friends- sometimes went exploring the multitude of dirt roads surrounding me. Looking for old mines, Indian petroglyphs, deserted ranch houses, and whatever else might be of interest.
The old Isuzu Trooper II was mine. A true 4X4, it had a low-range transfer case and would take me almost as many places as my friend's Jeep Wrangler. And I didn't get beaten to death in the process .
He did .
Thanks BP.
Yes, the second image was near the Virgin River Gorge- which you know is a narrow, deep and remarkably rugged and beautiful canyon... that happens to have an interstate highway running through it. But there is also a dirt road on the north side that leads out of the canyon and into the (somewhat) higher country.
