Fuji was my primary system from the time the X100 showed up in 2011, through the X-Pro1, XE1, XE2, and XT1, until about a year and a half ago when I moved over to Nikon full frame. I had a loaner of the X100s for a while but never bought another X100 after the original because a 35mm fixed lens isn't really my thing. But 28mm is right up my alley, pretty much my sweet spot. I've been shooting with a Coolpix A, but the X70 has some features I really wanted to check out, plus the Fuji interface and colors I've always liked so much. So I decided to check one out.
... I've only had the X70 a few days and I'm not sure yet if I'm gonna keep it, but I'm leaning that way. Here are a few shots from the fist couple days of "testing", so nothing to write home about photographically. I'm gonna spend tomorrow in the city shooting with it, so I should get a better feel for it then. And hopefully come back with some more compelling photos...

I have the 28mm adapter for my X100 and use it a lot, even though I prefer 35mm mostly. If you dont mind the size (and it's not that big overall), it's an excellent set up. If you are looking for something small, I dont see any reason to get the X70 if you already have a Coolpix A.

Yeah, I've used the X100 with the adapter. It was pretty nice, but none of the X100 models have the auto-ISO setup I like, with a minimum shutter speed up around 1/500 - they're all still stuck at 1/125, which I find next to useless. I'm sure the next one will offer a more robust setup because the X70 allows for up to 1/500 and if they're now doing that with a 28mm camera, I'd think they would with an X100 family member in the next generation.
Having the Coolpix A, there's definitely no "NEED" for the X70, but when was this about need? As much as I love the Coolpix A, there are things about Fujis, and the X70 in particular, that I really like. I like aperture rings and exposure comp dials on top of the camera and flip up screens. And I like Fuji colors - I like Nikon colors too but Fuji's are different and I like them too. I'm also looking forward to the 21mm auxiliary lens. As a wide angle guy, I'd rather have a 28mm baseline and a wide angle adapter that takes it to 21 than a 35 baseline and an adapter that only takes it to 28mm. I've already ascertained that I like the X70 more than the Nikon for non-street use but not quite as much for street or for the quick transition into street shooting mode. But I might like it enough. We'll see after some more experimentation...
Got my Silver X70 today after selling off my black one to a FM member. I think I made the right choice, black one is discrete but silver one just looks sweet. As petty as it sounds, if it were like the silver x100 series with a silver top and bottom and black middle I wouldn't have changed but the silver top and black bottom are just right.
Got to try the X100T in person for the first time at a local store, what a camera. Not a Fuji shooter but highly considering getting on board... Just one question for you all: I was trying to mess around with the OVF/EVF but for whatever reason when I clicked the front lever as I've seen on videos, the little corner EVF was not showing up when I'm in the OVF mode. Also in the same mode, I wasn't seeing any frame lines. Am I missing something here or is this not how it works? Thanks for any input.
I took this on the way to work tonight, whilst in traffic. I spotted this the other day but couldn't get the angle I wanted. Unfortunately I was resting the camera on the car door so this ended up a bit wonky. I have straightened this to the road line and not the bus, my thinking was/is that it would be quite tight if I straightened the bus and cropped the road to about the painted white line.
I am happy for now and might try again on my tablet when I get home.
