The main question is: can you live without a viewfinder?
For a secondary camera yes absolutely, my partner will use it most of the time and she's never used the x100s viewfinder, I just wonder if the focal length will be as useful, I do appreciate the shallow depth of field from the x100s, would the wider angle on the x70 be much different?
X100S I picked up from a fellow FMer. Focus speed is the pits, but love the other capabilities of the camera I do wish it had an articulated LCD though, would be perfect for flowers, etc.

I'm interested to hear peoples thoughts, tempted to sell my x100s for the x70 for reduced size and weight
I've had one for about three days. I've had a Nikon Coolpix A since it's introduction as my primary street camera. Trying to decide whether I'll get on as well with the X70. From the first few days, it seems like I prefer the Nikon slightly for street but I really like the X70 more for just about everything else. The primary thing it's notably slower to switch from non-street shooting into my "street mode" when an opportunity quickly comes up. It's inherently slower, but I'm getting better with it and may be able to get close enough to replace the Nikon.
If you like 28mm as much as 35 and don't need a viewfinder, the X70 is great. If either of those things are NOT true, OTOH, probably not so much. I'm personally much more of a 28mm guy - 35 always feels a little cramped to me. And I like viewfinders but for little cameras like this I'm fine without one - that's what my DSLR is for... You can stick a dumb OVF on one easily enough - that might be adequate for some folks. I just leave it without.
Should X70 photos go in this thread or are we gonna need a whole additional thread for that camera?
