What advantage does the t have over the S (other than silent)? Are these both x trans sensors?

The silent thing isn't that big a deal as the S is already plenty silent enough to shoot in church weddings.

The biggest improvement for me is the wifi and link direct to the printer. The ability to print off there and then w/o going through a third device has been great at all kinds of things from parties to weddings to a model shoot.

Also the ability to assign a button to the converters is good. Makes it all much quicker. Screw it on, press a button, done.

The +/- 3 exp comp is occasionally useful. Rather have it than not. The third stop aperture is (for me) an annoyance. Full stops were good enough for me and much better for doing by touch alone. But whatever.

The new viewfinder gagdet is pointless for me. I shoot EVF. The EVF is very good.

Classic Chrome looks good too. I like it for most subjects.

To summarise - if I had no Instax printer and no TCL converter I'd have stayed with the already fantastic S.

yeah, both are x-trans. I don't have any experience with the S but I love my T, the EVF is so good that I barely use the optical viewfinder. The battery is pretty solid as well.

Had the S twice, for a total of about 4-5 weeks. Didn't mesh with it and gave it up, but missed the camera and recently picked up a T as my main camera until I find a system that I want to grow with. Some reasons I prefer the T over the S.

- T was available in black from day 1, which I prefer.
- T has a faster EVF, better refresh rate.
- T has onboard wifi. A little confusing at first since if you type in Fujifil in the App Store, you get 3 apps which seem to all do the same thing. Easy to transfer pictures directly to camera for fast social media uploads, and direct to Instx Share printer which I have and enjoy.
- Face detect, a biggie for me, which means I can hand the camera to anyone and have a shot in focus.
- slightly faster AF, at least feels that way to me.
- new OVf with little pip screen is nice, but I don't use it that much. Harder to see when I'm feeling lazy and just wearing glasses, easier to see when I bother to wear my contacts.
- 4 way directional pad instead of the wheel. Can customize 7'different function buttons if you choose, but I keep the 4 way pad as direct movements for the AF selection, so can move the AF point directly without having to press another button first.
- 3 custom auto ISO selections. Have one set for daytime, one set for indoors/dusk, and one set for indoor shooting.
- and another big thing for me is being able to customize the Q screen. Leave off the ones I don't use much (highlight, shadow, nr, etc), add nd filter, etc.

I have only a few nitpicks about it.
- I don't see why some functions can't be set to the Q screen. Activating macro mode can't be set to the Q screen but has to be mapped to a physical function button. Same goes for movie record.
- movie record is not in drive mode. Need to designate a physical function button for movie mode, but not a big issue since movie recording is terrible on the Fuji's.
- wide angle convertor and teleconvertor need to remember to activate it in menu each time you use, and turn off when you remove.

And finally once you start adding the optional accessories, it starts to add up. Extra batteries? $20-30. Thumb grip to improve handling? $60-130. Strap? $10-100. Soft release? $10-40. Small bag? Want to add the teleconvertors? Another $300-600.

All in all, I'm very pleased so far, and not missing an interchangeable system.

Hi guys, I'm considering a T... Sold my original x100 for a GR due to the slow and inaccurate focus. Is the T an improvement enough for me to consider over the original? I'm finding the 28 of the GR a bit too wide, and thinking I need a 35 again.

I also had the GR, twice as well. Really liked it for what it was, a street camera is its strength, also being a true pocketable camera as well. One handed operation is great with it, B&W conversions were fantastic. Longer shutter speeds without having to resort to bulb mode as well. Also both times bought it for around $500-600, so it's affordable. Yet I sold it twice. The lack of a viewfinder was one. I don't mind shooting with a rear LCD screen, in fact there are days when Ill shoot mostly with the rear screen for convenience sake (chasing a 2 yr old around, sometimes i need to keep one eye on her and one eye on the screen). But when I need a finder, not having one is a big deal. I prefer the 35 over a 28. As poor as the video is on a Fuji, it's even worse on the GR. Also I found that the GR didn't make me want to go out and shoot, there were days/weeks when it would just sit on my desk ignored. I don't shoot street at all, so it's biggest strength I wasn't using. I'm having more fun shooting with the T than I ever did with the GR.

Great stuff here. I just got my X100T and LOVE it. It is like most of my complaints on the S version were taken care of.... but I would have liked a flip LCD but you can't have everything. Probably would have made the camera thicker anyway...

Would you mind elaborating on your complaints on the S version? I'm debating between the s and the T right now...

These are with the T and the WCL converter. Any weaknesses are due to me having left it on AF-C by mistake.

This time with a TCL on the x100T (though I didn't switch from the WCL setting and it still worked fine!)

hanging on... by rhode.run, on Flickr

First week out with the Fuji x100t, love it but quite a different animal than the 5D. However, I am looking forward to getting acquainted with the new layout/design.
