Has potential, but certainly not there yet.
I've never been one for all the in-camera effect modes, but I decided to try a few hand-held in camera panoramas with the X100. Once I figure out the right cadence for the swing I think this has potential to be fun. I'm still going through some stuff from a recent business trip, but most of the panoramas I grabbed are showing banding similar to this. I'm sure the results would be better with (a) a tripod and (b) my understanding the process better. This is untouched, all in camera except for resize for here.
Yes, I have not been able to get a successful pano without banding in the sky despite trying different options. Shame because it has great potential. If anybody has found a foolproof method I'd be interested to hear how it's done.
I have wanted an x100s since it was announced. Mostly for better AF and for the ability to MF. Really, for people on the move, or for shooting while walking, the x100 is next to useless.
Am I going to be disappointed? What is the RAW processing like these days?
Great shot! As for RAW processing it's getting better but I still do it in camera. Then I work with the JPEG in LR until I get it where I want it. I usually have just a couple of photos that I've picked out so it's not a big deal for me. I love these Fuji cameras!

Honestly, that's just about what I'm doing now with my x100. The jpegs are just so nice.
The shot I posted needed very little in the way of editing to make it pop like it does. I think I will bite, I just need to find one!
