Hey JMan13, could you tell me what your sharpness settings are, either in camera, or post? I have the X100T and I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to the V or not. Your images are bitingly sharp and I'm wondering if that is it's native state. Thanks.
The X100V lens is quite sharp, and would be a notable step up in sharpness when shooting at f/2 close up, but the differences are quite minor at say, f/5.6 and a more normal distance. When you downsize an image, of course you're transforming it, and the sharpening done is part of my standard reduce to web size action that I have set up. It does a progressive size reduction and small amounts of smart sharpen at each step - so it runs a very light sharpen on the full size image (like radius 0.3, amount 30 or 40), then a reduction in size to 3000 pixels wide, another light smart sharpen...then a reduction to final output size, and a final very light sharpen (I believe radius 0.2, amount 20). Sometimes, if the source image has too much fine detail, this process will cause the image to look oversharpened. If that's the case, I undo and I will skip several of the early steps in this process and start the action at the final output resize and final sharpen,
