hopefully it will perform as good as the X100. I'd opt for Nikon's 'X100'. I'm sure it will be pretty good. D5200's sensor in an X100? that's quite amazing. But I'm sure it will be priced pretty good though.
I hope any camera would be better than the X100....that camera lacked.. I had one for about 6 months before I sold it. I got tired of it constantly freezing on me.

It's official! $1199 and HSC is back ....7 fps in 1.3x crop mode, 1/320th flash sync, 51/15 MultiCAM3500 AF, EXPEED 3, looks pretty damn good for the $$
edit: oh yeah! 1-click zoom avail. w/center button just like Nikon's "real" cameras
This made my decision to pick up a D800 a lot harder. I was waiting for this announcement to pull the trigger on the D800 order, mostly out of idle curiosity. I wasn't expecting it to actually pique my interest. Wonder if the AF will keep up with the D800?
Specs are nice, I just find it disappointing that this seems to kill all hope for a D400, which means a DX shooter has to settle for no 9-pin connector, no semi-pro build quality, and a mediocre buffer.
I still find the D800 appealing for the option of, with a minimum of 15mp resolution, having both full frame and DX shooting modes available.
I'm actually amused at the price. 1200 isn't too bad. It's roughly only $400 more than a used D7000. It may not be a pro-body but it's priced pretty well IMO.
