Has anyone had issues calibrating an lens using fo cal?
I did some tests indoors but wanted to make sure they were correct in better light so went out side to run them again.
Finished my 85,50 and 70-200 and all seem better(as expected the 70-200 has very different results for each end) but on testing my 24-70 the 24 end worked fine at 70mm i got a failed due to unexpected results the first time it worked the second and i decided to double check and got a fail again for the third time.
I did notice that on my 24-70 it seems reasonably sharp where ever i have the MA set when shooting myself.
I've had issues with my 24-70 also, failed. Other Nikkor lens went through the process with no problems. However, at the time I tried, this lens was in desperate need of cleaning and recalibration, so that's what I attributed the results to. Just got the lens back from Nikon (all clean and smooth now), so I'll try it again and let you know how I make out.
My lens is fairly new. It was only bought 2 years ago by myself second hand and only owned for just over 1 before that. The original owner and myself are both armatures so its not seen heavy use, and shows no sign of an issue.
When I ran the original test indoors it also worked fine at both end...will retry again in a few days maby.
