Thanks for the great tutorial. There is another way of applying Smart Sharpen without converting to Lab Color and back again. Apply Smart Sharpen to your image then go Edit > Fade Smart Sharpen, and for Mode, scroll down to Luminosity. This does the same thing, but is just faster for me.

I did read a few years ago why it gives better results than applying to the normal image, but I can't remember why.

Tony

Sure thing Tony! And I'll try that Luminosity tip to speed up this step. Thanks man!

Good info and nice of you to take the time to put this together and share with us. You are a good man Conrad.
I noticed you left out a step or two after #36....how to get rid of the red and /or blue! Maybe more just a reminder because some of us still forget to do it.

Thanks again.

Leo

Happy to share Leo! And thanks for reminding me about those steps. I need to be more thorough!

Really appreciate your guide. I've been bumbling through PP for quite a while now, and I've really been struggling with sharpening. Your guide was a great help to me!

Now you need to write a guide to getting close to raptors!

Conrad, thank you so much for this. Really appreciate your time and effort to put this together. I know it will be of benefit to me as I seem to flounder and stumble trying to get a "process" down. Seems like each of my shots need something different

Hey Conrad,

Thanks for taking the time putting your tutorial together and sharing with all. Your hard work and generosity does not go unnoticed.

My white balance is not always right so, after importing the image and cropping it, I get the color right by getting the white balance right. That can be achieved by adjusting the temperature and tint slider, or clicking on the white balance presets, or using the white balance eyedropper tool.

Any tips on how to improve one's golf game?

Thanks for sharing,
Tom

Yes, white balance should be the first place to start after exposure. Gotta incorporate that into the next rendition of this workflow.

Golf game? Hit the range brother! Hit the range!
