I like the feeling of loneliness in this one Rick. Is that a band of ground fog on the horizon?

Yes, the top of a large fog bank can be sen here on the horizon. The bank extents down into the valley below because of a weather inversion and often enough when the city is blanketed in thick mist a short drive of about 4 miles takes one up and through it and into bright blue sky.
Have you considered or tried to selectively darken the black levels and increase the clarity on the barn, maybe up the saturation of the wood a bit (but I can't tell for sure now, not looking at my calibrated monitor).
