JaKo, thanks. But I'm still not decide to buy D800
Great pano!
?? I assumed JaKo's image is normal single exposure image ??
The miniature images (posted to ZE/ZF/ZM Images thread) look like I managed to completely hide the darn ugly corner bokeh, but larger size it's visible even I did my best to hide it while shooting these:
- 1st image top left corner shows it
- 2nd image even at this size it doesn't shot, but print (or brightened version on screen) would reveal the bokeh issues on top right corner, also some hint of green bokeh CA below the main focus branch in middle of picture

Your sharpening is always so spot on Samuli.
Thanks, thou I don't think it does much in this kind of image, which don't have textures. Over >95% of my images just go through same script, and I don't need to adjust anything. For that <5% I may run different resizing script or sharpening. These two were part of the >95% portion of my images, just standard Lanczos resize and Gamma 1.0 250% 0.2px end sharpening (USM filter of PhotoShop used).
I don't find much difference, but sure the "no sharpening" versions lacks little bit of something.
Notice! running same sharpening in Gamma 2.2 (e.g. AdobeRGB or sRGB ICC profiles) will ruin the image, lots of haloing etc. So please don't compare values to ones you are using unless you perform your sharpening also in Gamma 1.0.
I noticed that most of these beautiful images are shot with DSLRS. Have any of you had success using a Micro 4/3 camera to do HDR? If so, I would love to see some of the images.

A single shot; Zeiss MP50 deep DoF comes handy here.
JaKo excellent presentation of one of the reasons why I don't like 50MP over 50cm distances
Field curvature on corners:
- top left corner is almost in focus (much more in focus than 100 pixels right)
- top right corner blurriness/softness on the green leaves
- bottom right plants out of focus even stone/ground 100px left at same distance is in focus
Samuli, that's absolutely correct. Regarding corners sharpness, none of them should be in focus for a couple of reasons;
1/ focus was set to cover only the depth of a miniature pine tree in the mid-frame. I focussed just behind the tree and adjusted focus point till the front branch needles appeared sharp. All other parts of the image should be blurred with the exception of right to pine trunk, but...
2/ windy weather after a day of rain cleared the sky, but it made impossible for me to get waving leaves and branches in focus, especially in this location hence only a single shot at f/2.8 1/750s
Anyhow, thanks for your remarks; much appreciated. You really make me get Zeiss 1.4/85 or Lux-R 80 sooner than I planned
