I still have all my camera and lens straps in their small plastic bags that they came in. It must be 8-10 straps. They have never been used
Wait till you try the new Canon's wide lens strap B......you might like it.

OK, I see the direction of your concern, Paolo, however, I do not understand the conditions which would require strap removal from a lens ?
When I use it it gets tangled in itself or with the monopod/tripod. It often obstructions camera operation. When I lock down for long exposure it acts like a sail that contribute to camera shake.
I want to be able to attach and detach whenever I carry or mount it.
Something like this at the end of the stock strap would be great!
Some may find the nylon 'flimsy' but I understand the material is what parachuters use. The plastic buckle may be worrisome but a metal buckle would collide with the lens/body.
Well, you see, I use pods relatively seldom. Therefore, to me the lens strap does two essential functions:
* ensures the setup safety (drop prevention)
* lets me suspend the setup from my shoulder so that I do not have to hold it in my hands at all times.
I just can not have quick connectors on a "safety line", plus they are not needed because the "safety line" needs to be there at all times, and it is not to be removed once the lens leaves its bag.
Not to mention the the strap attached to the body isn't that needed on a long lens than on a short lens. It's just an inconvenience I've been wanting to correct.
With the lens strap engaged, I do not really need the camera body strap.....EXCEPT when I am placing (or removing) TCs on the lens......then the body strap becomes essential .

Is this place in BKK pretty cheap for most camera kit? I fly into BKK and HKG a lot and am never sure which one is the best place to buy?
they also have a great promotion deal on the 6D camera. For $ 2075 you get the 6D + an iPad mini 16GB

That seems pretty good! If i needed a 6D i'd jump on that.
The shop i've dealt with before in HKG is in central in somewhere called Stanley Street i think? Can anyone recommend other places in HK that have a good reputation and proper kit?
The Canon 1 series body that I see in your link is the very old 1D. And they sell it for 178,000 baht !!!!!!. is this a real shop or? It certainly looks like a scam ?
Yeah, I saw that they used an old 1-D photo. And no they aren't scam artists. They're great to deal with - they are often much better value than fotofile; their pricing is very sharp and they are genuinely helpful with well-stocked shops. Pricing for example, they are selling the Sigma 35 f1.4 for 25,000. The 7D at 28,900 vs 36,900. The 5D3 for 84,900 vs 89,000. It's legit - I've bought loads of stuff from both places and digilife is my new favourite.

It's not that they used an old 1D photo. They also write it's a 1D body. Not anywhere do they even mention or write that it's a 1DX. So they are selling an old 1D.

Well it is Thailand. Did you see the Nikon D4 price difference?
fotofile: 199,000 baht.
digilife: 165,900 baht.
That's the sort of difference they offer - their store rental costs may be adding a premium to their prices. Don't get me wrong, I like fotofile but it's good to check out what else is on offer, isn't it?

Yes it's Thailand. But that would not make a 1D body to be a 1DX
Also remember that all foreigners and tourists that stay less than 6 months in Thailand will get the VAT refund from FotoFile. So the price will be about 7% less even without the normal "paying cash discount"
When I bought my 1DX in December I got it for 21,200 baht less than the list price (after the VAT refund and cash discount)
