Great work. I wonder about post processing, beside the stitch, have you created layers in PS to achieve such high dynamic range? Or was the light that good? Very nice work.
Jim, these all started life as bracketed exposures. In the case of the panoramas, I stitch a separate panorama for each exposure level (PTGui does this automatically). I then either combine them using exposure blending in TUFuse Pro, or start with the central exposure and manually blend part of the others, using layers in Photoshop. Even when I start with the blended result for TuFuse, I often manually blend in portions from other layers, frequently a dark one. That was the case in all of these, I think: I used the darker, shorter-exposure layer to add detail to the water highlights. Beyond that I usually just have a few curves layers to tweak the contrast of the overall scene and sometimes selected areas.
But yes, the light was really good. I was still cloudy but getting brighter, with just a hint of morning mist still left. So the effect was soft but not excessively subdued.
