Hi everyone,
I just got back from a weekend in Yosemite. We had clear skies with a beautiful winter scenery.
This photo shows El Capitan being painted by very early light.
Comments appreciated - Fred
A fantastic image. Very compelling. I would like to see a bit more of the bottom of the frame (just to see where the reflection ends), but since the ice makes the bottom a little soft I think it still works very well.
I love everything about it. Great composition, perfect exposure. Very inspired choices for a beautiful moment. I love the subdued coloring of the sky which brings out the beauty in the golden hues of the sun-kissed cliffs, all the while still bringing out the detail within the shadows of the forest to keep that section interesting as well.

Looks like you're getting the hang of this landscape photography thing ...
Should you come near the Madison, WI or Chicago area lets get drunk, er, I mean, photograph. I'm an excellent tour guide, just ask me, I'll tell ya...
Great light, but lets get a smidge of grey outta that sky.

Thanks for your comment. I agree that the bottom icy edge adds interest to the composition and perhaps for this comp, I should've used my 17mm instead. I have some other shots showcasing that section. I will post them later.
Best,
Fred

Thanks Alex! The new Canon 6D handled very well in 18 degrees fahrenheit!
