p.1 #5 · D4 users! Sony H series XQD cards discontinued
XQD is the "replacement" for CF cards. The H-Series are being replaced by the new S-series. Same card just faster read/write performance. Lear has also started producing XQD cards. I'm pretty sure the new Nikon pro body will be dual XQD.

Will S series work in D4s?
since there has been no official word of a D4s my crystal ball shows nothing on that front. but if it has XQD slots installed it will. on a D4 it is nothing more then a speed bump up as is the Lexar version with the mystery write speeds.

the relevance is going to be future use such as higher res video and such. the speed increase is fairly substantial from 125MB/s capability to 168MB/s which increases throughput while shooting insanely long continuous bursts in still camera mode. I have one coming tomorrow (32GB). I kind of doubt it will make a real difference for now for me. but who knows.

Looks like a Betamax sale to me. I'd be more motivated to stock up if there were two of the same slots, but if I was to spend my $ it would be on CF as that is likely going to be in the next high end DSLR versus this XQD format.

the glass half empty. as it is CF is at its limit. there will be a change.
