There was an announcement during last nights photo club meeting that Adobe is providing CS2 programs for free, complete with serial numbers. I understand the activation is disabled. A good way to try or install on an old machine.
Just for clarification, the official Adobe stand is that there is glitch in the activation server, so they disabled it to help their customers, not giving it away.
But, they provided serial numbers, so you decide.
