I remember a few months back someone had mentioned they had clients (Indian) that wanted to reenact movie posters for their engagement session and save the date. I forgot who it was and wonder if they ever went through with it.
I wanted to post one from an engagement session with my wife's cousin and her fiance. She really wanted this! We'll probably never show it as our work because we don't' do anything like this but since it was family, I caved in.
So I wanted to post a thread, about things we may never post publicly as our work but this is FM so thought I'd share.
Share yours if you want!
(Left is the movie poster they wanted to reenact and right is them)
Have to agree with Rich here. It's cute, it's funny and I also like yours better than the original.
I can see not putting it in your portfolio but I would TOTALLY blog it.
What the heck does "because we don't' do anything like this" mean in this context?!?!
You did it, you did it well, and don't tell me it wasn't fun to do.
Yeah so you don't want your e-sessions to be complete re-enactments of Bollywood movie posters but dude I had three SE Asian wedding inquiries in total, and two asked if I was up to doing something silly JUST LIKE THAT for a couple of their e-session shots.
It's a totally fun part of your culture (or at least apparently a part that more than a few couples have decided to make their own)... I'd run with it.
OF COURSE within the context of showing a stylized, elegant session to surround that kind of image.

Sometimes clients ask me to do certain shots that totally are not what I want. I happily do it for them, but the images never see the light of day. I'm not a "prima dona" photographer that's only about my vision. I'm here to make my clients happy.
