Seeing how well the speedbooster is doing, I wonder why they don't make one of these with AF.
Something like the Nikon 1,6x TC or the Pentax 1,7x, but with the SB ratio.
Of course we wouldn't get full range AF, but it would still be extremely useful. I used the Nikon a few years ago and it worked quite well. The user puts the focus more or less where it needs to be and the adapter does the rest, it was actually very effective.
What do you guys think? Would you buy such a thing?
I am considering one of these for my fuji xe1 - ideally I'd like to have eos mount so I could use a few canon lenses in addition to c/y lenses with adapter but one isn't yet available.
So.....
Do I get....
1. C/y mount and just use my C/y lenses?
2. Get nikon mount for use with some old nikkors? Could I use an adapter on my c/y glass to use with the nikkor speedbooster (c/y to G mount)?

No adapter for Contax glass on Nikon bodies. Alternatively, you can get your Contax lenses 'leitaxed' to Nikon. ( only if they're MM )

Are you sure that's the case even if its being used on mirrorless camera and not on a Nikon body?
You'd have to find some Nikon-to-Nex (or whatever mirrorless) adapter that had exactly the right number of millimeters removed to make up for the fact that this one is too thick. Which nobody makes, because why would they?
When you fit a Nikon mount Metabones SB on a NEX body you're converting the camera in a Nikon body, so to speak. Those C/Y lens to Nikon adapters do exist but, as Taylor says, they won't allow for infinity focus. This is clearly stated in the text to that eBay auction
I have an early speed booster ef to NEX. I use it with another adapter OM to EF to use the Oly 21/2. Problem is: Sometimes the NEX-7 won't release. The zoom function for manual focusing doesn't work either. When I reattach the speed booster it works fine. Does anyone have experience with the problem?

No never experienced that before. I occasionally happen to own a normal Metabones EF to NEX adapter and will try this one tomorrow (or later today, to be precise.).
A bunch of new SBs for Fuji X have just been released - I've ordered the MD version and I'll do a comparison with it against the MD-FX Lens Turbo which I received last week as soon as it arrives. Excited! I have been using the LT adapter with the Rokkor 58 1.2 and the results are just 'ok' with a lot of smudging when shooting wide open. Hopefully the SB will be significantly better.

I'd wait for EOS mount and adapt everything to EOS (Contax and Nikon).
I have adapter some CY to Nikon, and the ones I've done leave the back of the lens w/o a dust shroud, which is kind of scary in terms of trying to keep lenses from accumulating tons of dust. I have no desire to Leitax anything else over to Nikon mount for that reason.
So, I can now join this thread. Received my FD to Fuji X SpeedBooster today. So far, I quite like it. It's not perfect, but it's far better than the LensTurbo with wide aperture lenses, and works quite well with my 50/1.4, 85/1.8, 135/2 and 70-210. Will try it with my 200/2.8 and 50-300/4.5L a little later. The 135/2 and 200/2.8 make a little less sense to adapt, though, since I have a Rokinon 85/1.4 (similar DOF, smaller and a little better on the edges than the 135/2+SB, and for the 200/2.8, I might as well use the 135/2 straight. )
My Vivitar 28 is terrible on it, but I'm not sure whether that's because the Vivitar 28 is terrible or because it doesn't work well with the SB...it's my dad's old lens from his A-E1 kit he gave me a while back.
Some samples. I was trying to see whether the nFD 50/1.4 or the FD 50/1.4 SSC worked better on the SB, and frankly, they both perform almost identically, though the new FD has smoother bokeh and actually a little more blur (which is odd...especially considering the SSC has the larger front element...so the SSC will go back to the store).
I'm very interested in the Minolta 58mm 1.2 with a Speedbooster on my NEX-7, but am trying to confirm if the lens needs any modification at all, to work with the Speedbooster and attain infinity focus.
I tried emailing Metabones, but they haven't had chance to answer me yet.
I saw your pic of the combo on your NEX-6, so thought I'd reach out to you to ask for your experience with that lens and the Speedbooster.
