A somewhat difficult place to photograph. Had to use a telephoto to zero in to the composition I liked best as there is no simple spot to be. I had scouted this over and over and pretty much had figured out the best time for the shot to maximize the reflection of color. Hope it worked as I always wanted to capture this shot.
That is a very nice capture of the canyon. I like the reflections in the ice/water. And I like how the pathway of the water takes one through the shot. Well done.
This has both cold/warm aspects, lovely shadows, and nice point of view (hope you were sitting on a heating pad!). Before someone "nits" over the bush in the lower left...I like it as a balance for that otherwise so-so corner, and a reminder of how bleak the landscape seems in winter.
One question, though: unless I've missed it (likely)...where's the Jeep?
Craig,
You have been posting some great stuff lately and for me this is the best of the bunch
The colors are gorgeous, great composition, and the reflections in the river are the "icing" on the cake
This will make a gallery worthy print

Beautiful light and color... the reflection adds even more interest and I like your composition Craig.
It sure is rewarding when we visualize the image and execute it just as we hoped. Very well done.
This turned out fantastic with the warm and cool tone, and the wonderful curve in the foreground. I see another interesting composition as well -- cropping away the rear wall completely, and going with a horizontal composition of just the left/middle portion of the ice that shows the cuve, and that wonderful reflection.
Congratulations for capturing this wonderful composition - beautifully done, Craig!
I am drawn immensely to the reflections in the ice, then looking upward for the gorgeous light.
The whole atmosphere renders serenity and peace at last!
Thanks.
