I'm not in a hurry for a camera, but I really want a D600 (new preferably) and I missed out on the recent deal they had with the kit lens. Should I wait for another deal like that or am I going to be waiting for a long time?

There's no crystal ball but Nikon somehow manages to hold the line for pricing very well. The deep discount on the D600 package was a shock to many here, even with all the price speculation that commonly occurs. I would not expect anything similar until next Christmas. But, I'm not getting rich in the stock market either.
You ought to buy the one that Trenchmonkey points out above (although I don't like his payment requirements). That will be the seperated going rate for a bit... But the new ones offered for sale will get bought up fairly quick.
I thought about it and ended up buying a D600 "kit" at beyond the last minute on the 29th of December. Not sure what I'll do with the lens, but that's OK.

Who knows when the deal comes back? It was a very special deal due to dust/oil issue. When Nikon fixes that, they won't give the deal again. If you/OP want to buy new right now, just pay for the full price otherwise, get refurbished/ used-like-new. I think it's very simple and no argument needed.
