Either the Sigma 35/1.4 has a lot of field curvature, or Sigma haven't figured out the electronic interface with the Canon AF system. Either way, you are better off using the Canon 35mm 2.0 IS or if you really want to focus by hand and get a lot of unfocussed pictures, the Zeiss.

The Sigma electronic interface works perfect on my Canon 1DX, 1Ds3, 1D4, 1D3 and 100D bodies. And it gives me perfect in focus shots

OK, so you did not thoroughly test it. Maybe that explains the discrepancies then. But the most important thing is that you are happy with your lens.
You don't even know what I have done So what should I have done then? You have to tell me and the other members here. Because only you know what to do. Even if you can't get it to work according to your own post
It's not science fiction or very difficult to see if the AF works good on a lens. And if it does work good, you don't even need to do any super testing on it
I tested two Sigma 35 1.4's against my 35L on a 5D3. Both Sigma's were sharper wide open but with a significantly lower AF accuracy rate than the Canon 35L. I ended up buying the Sigma anyways )ordered from B&H) and got burned. The one I purchased had an AF accuracy rate of about 25% vs the ones I shot at the store around 50%. The Canon was dead on everytime.
My Sigma experimenting days are over.
The Sigma is an excellent lens. And every review and test confirms that. Every photo magazin is also praising the lens. So it's an easy choice if you like to have the best fast 35mm lens for a rather low price
I just sent mine in for calibration along with the dock. I would say there's a good bit of evidence that there are a few AF issues with the 35mm Art, but probably not that many in the grand scheme of things. We'll see if Sigma does me right!
