Haha it's funny I've received a couple where they claim a hearing disability. I guess they think that will excuse their really bad English language conversion. It's fun to play along with it sometimes though. I always try to get them to send me a cashier's check for an insane amount but no luck yet.
I just received this one last night. For one I'm in Wisconsin. While I've traveled to Virginia Beach, and DC to shoot weddings, but New Jersey? Oh, and then there's the wedding being held on 02-22-2013. Today is 04-15-2013...

My assistant used to do wedding invitations. She worked with a deaf woman and her deaf fiancee and their written English was terrible. Like Nigerian scam bad. She was actually legit though and they met initially at a wedding fair.
What they are trying to get: you to take a fraudulent cashiers check. It is written for over the transaction amount and they need you to wire the overage somewhere. By the time the check blows up, your wire transfer is gone and through. Google 419 scams. But yeah, if you can get one of those humungous checks just frame it! Some people make a hobby out of scamming the scammers....

I think most have moved on from the cashiers check. They now want your cell phone number. If you text them, they then set up a recurring charge for a fairly small amount - $9.99 or so/month. It doesn't take that many people to not notice the small bump in their mobile bill to make it worthwhile.
Don't reply to strange texts and don't go sending a text to some anonymous person/client.
