#1 is a nice portrait that I would love to have.
#2 is "Photo of the Year" caliber Tim.
I LOVE everything about this one buddy... the perch, eye contact, light, color, and BG too... WOW what a gorgeous image.
Always a treat to view your work my friend, and it's been a real joy to shoot alongside you. Best wishes for an awesome 2013.
Kruk
Yes December sucked, just think of it as a cold Gray May or June Gloom
Thanks for the nice words and thoughts Kruk, I do hope to your neck of the woods some time soon and shoot with you again my friend.
These guys look sleepy eyed . I could see #1 with a tighter crop in from the right with just a partial stump included😎yes, last nit of the year🎉
I'm back, it is 2013 now.........I'm envious!
Best to you my friend.........
Karl
Gosh thanks Karl
I don't understand your crit, do you mean 1 or 2 or both ? I can see if you are saying all of this about 2, I wondered while shooting how much stump there should be so I did comp differently in the camera.

So this is MY last post of 2012! The apparent depth in both of these two images is astounding....you deserve an award for living in a city with bad weather of biblical proportions. Your reward was these wonderful owls...and you didn't even need to cross the border to get them...and probably home by lunchtime!
Hope you get a nice morning to go out and find some more....in 2013!
Eric
Thanks a ton Eric!!! Actually Doug and I made a day of it. We probably walked 10 miles! Just for the record we had 33% more rain than usual last year and had a 3 month spell with only a trace, .01 inch. Do the math
