Been using this Pre AI 50mm f/1.4 mounted on my 5Dmk2 or NEX. Early this year, I was able to acquire a Nikon FE2 with a Nikon 35mm ai and a 70-210 ais lenses. Since the 50mm is a pre ai, I didn't bother to mount it on my FE2 nor check if it had been converted to ai.
Last night, I decided to check it after doing some research thinking I might send it for conversion so that I could mount the lens on my FE2 and my coming D600.
I have found that the lens seem to have been AI converted based on some research.
Just to confirm, I attached 2 photos showing the back of the lens (sorry for the quality, shot these with my smartphone).
Just a bit more info, if it wasn't converted, that tab you see that starts at the f8 and goes left towards f16 would be a complete ring around the whole lens.
I have one of these, not converted. I use it on my FE and F3...I've also got an F that I got the lens on, but that doesn't get much use.

Thanks for the info. Will definitely try this on my FE2.
It's definitely a factory cvonversion - or at least a factory conversion ring. You can find a lot of pre-Ai lenses on ebay at great prices if you don't mind converting them yourself. I've converted four of them myself, and it's a fairly easy process if you have a set of micro-screwdrivers and a little patience. But before you start buying up pre-Ai lenses, I'd suggest checking Koh's Camera, Crystal Camera Repair, or Pacific Rim Camera for available kits. Each one has a particular number. Then use Roland Vink's site to match them with their corresponding lenses.
