The FOCUS has to be more on Eric. The other players only serve to distract away from the focus of the poster. The player on the ground, the body parts on the far right are all distractions. Also, be careul with selective defocusing. When you do that, the feet of the sharp player appears to be floating above the ground.

What if you put the text on a plane parallel to that back wall, so it looks more like it's hanging in space rather than just plopped on top of a picture.

I really wish he was more centered. All the extra space on the left really detracts from the image. I like the fonts and the selective color but the image doesn't do it for me.

Maybe try a blue color overlay on the b/w area, and a slight-to-medium zoom blur on it so the center of focus is on your main subject. Text placement could use more playing with as well.
Just a tip, but it would really help if you reduced the image size you post here- 1000 or 1200 pixels max width so we can see the entire frame without having to scroll to the right. Easier to see it as a whole...
