I'm waiting for the 6D refurbs to be available thru the CLP sometime next year, for now a newly acquired 7D and 1DMkIIN require my attention...this thread is fantastic, I'm looking forward to next year

I was wrong! The price is even lower! Plus free shipping! Taxes push it up tho from $1394 to 1500, still fair!

I really like the first and last shots of that set Chris. Cool shots

Thanks Nate. I've been shooting that couple since 1999 over the years. They are photo mad.

Some from Sydney.

Nice to be working with a new camera, and my first full frame body. Here is a sample from my first outing.

I like the solid built and quiet shutter, but the limited DR is not to my liking.

Based on that pic. Where is the DR limitation? Imo D600,D800 doent do better.

You may well be right. I may be comparing apples to oranges. This is my first digital SLR, and I'm comparing it to film, which wouldn't have blown the highlights.

A lot of great photographers on here. Niktnowy, the shot of the footbridge especially is quite impressive. While I'm nowhere near that level (yet), it is still fun to try.

Here are a few from a walk yesterday in San Francisco. No post other than LR5 RAW conversion. The first two shot with the 24-105 f/4 L and the last two with the 85 f/1.8

Ralph, you were the early cheerleader for the 6D. Did you ever end up buying one?

If you would have exposed this one pic 1-2 stops lower the highlights would not have been blown, the rest would have been managed in post easily. In Film times that would have been a mess. And exposed the same way, film WOULD have blown the highlights imo.
