CPS is stepping it up...I picked up a bunch of gear today and each lens/body came back wrapped in a nice CPS microfiber bag with a draw string. Inside each CPS bag was the gear wrapped in the plastic bags...nice touch.
Art -- Yes, I got one back from CPS Irvine last week with the return of my 24-70L lens. I thought it was a nice touch, since I didn't send the lens pouch this time.
I know Canon raised their repair rates, but I still find them quite reasonable. I paid about $188 for CPS Gold service (including return shipping) to check and adjust my lens that was out of alignment and never serviced since purchased in 2006. I even sent it back once, because the change brought to light a new and difficult to detect optical flaw, which they fixed super-quick and to good result.
damn! those look like nice SWAG!
too bad I dont have any shoots coming up or I would have renewed as gold again. Decided to renew as silver for now and upgrade if/when i need it. no sense in 'wasting' months when I dont need the gold services
I don't know if they have different sized bags or what but that's a 200/2 on the right. I already found a good use for them - I wrapped my teleconverters in them and stacked them in my backpack.
My 24-70 II came back in a white pouch like the ones pictured... I then had to resend my lens back to them, and it came back again in another white pouch. So I got two now lol
I just sent my 5D3 and 70-200 II in for check/cleans, so I hope I get some black ones too now! They are a nice touch
Well if anyone gets these and doesn't want them I could sure use a few for my lenses. I'd love to be able to slip a few of mine into a pouch before it went into my camera bag.
I've gotten six now, in various sizes, all white. They are used on both lenses and bodies, presumably on flashes or other products too.
I got to re-use one, sending a body back to Canon for cleaning and check.
Items all come back wrapped first in plastic, then in the "silk" back, followed by wrapping in heavy pink plastic CPS "gold" bag. Very classy, and helps protect on multiple levels.
I got black ones when I sent in two bodies for shutter replacements, but then when I had to send one back because they didn't adjust it correctly(which surfaced while in the Carribean on my vactation) It didn't come back with any bag-black or white. I think it's a nice touch and my repairs were reasonable-about $200 to replace a shutter. Just wish both of them would have been done correctly the 1st time.
