I rarely put my 200/2G VRII on a tripod but when I do it's with a Gitzo 1325 with a RRS BH-55 ballhead.

Three years I've been dreaming about 200 F/2 and finally got a brand new last month. Can't explain how happy I'm right now. It's a better then I thought it would.

I recently bought a carbon fiber monopod to use for this beast. I dont want to lug the tripod around everywhere and the monopod will help with the weight to stabilize

Thats why you are here Will. Keep on showing off that TC-20E III and I may have to dip into the grandkids inheritance again. Makes me smile thinking about all the weight I'll save using the chubby guy and ext. vs the other 400.
