You're right, I can't bear parting with chubby but unfortunately students are not rich people

VR II. =) Will have to get more beastly. I think I'm in fairly good shape and yet after walking around for half an hour with chubby on a monopod... thought about selling it because of the handling. Then quickly abolished the thought from my mind!

^^^ There something about the gold plate on the VR-I that makes the lens stand out.

I bought a Tamron 1.4x TC for my 200/2. Second hand and pretty cheap in comparison to Nikon's version. Focus is just as quick if not a hair quicker than my Nikon 1.7x TC.
