Finally pulled the trigger and bought my dream lens. I have been lusting over this piece of glass for years! So excited to see what I can create with it. Pictures to follow!!

Nice 1st post!! Welcome to FM and guys who love their Chubby
This has got to be one of the most "magical" lenses made by Nikon. I bet this lens could even make some of my photos look good. I am envious to the extreme!
Please keep posting these wonderful images.
thanks
Kerry
EDIT: I've got a maternity/portrait session scheduled for the end of the month and got to thinking that this lens would make some great shots. So, off I went to Lensrentals to see about renting one. I should have taken a Nitro tablet first... Almost $300 for a week's rental. sigh...
I decided to shoot an entire wedding last weekend with only 2 lenses. My new 200 VRII and a Sigma 35 1.4. It was awesome. I will admit hand holding for 8+ hours was rough so to alleviate that I went out and bought the BlackRapid Dual camera strap and attached one side to the lens foot and the other to my D4. Perfectly balanced now, problem solved.
Bastian, I'd love to see some of those wedding shots with both the 35mm and 200mm. I think that would be the ideal setup for a wedding if you were just using 2 lenses. Also, do you have a picture of Black Rapid Dual attached as you mentioned? Thanks in advance!

Hey Ryancrouch, sure thing. I just snapped a few quick photos with my iPhone so you can get the idea. It's very comfortable if you don't mind looking quasi-silly. I would recommend it if you run 2 cameras and want to go just a 2 prime setup with the 2nd(35mm) body using a single strap or even better a spider holster.

If there’s any doubt about the quality of this lens, DxoMark reports that the Nikon 200mm f/2G ED VR II is the sharpest lens ever tested.
Keep in mind the score is based on the resolving power with the highest MP camera available for the mount, in this case the D800/E. This means the results aren't directly comparable to the Canon tele-exotics.
