Not really an image to show off - but I thought it was interesting in that this was taken mid-day in harsh light and I used the in-camera HDR on a 5DIII. It was just something to try while playing the waiting game for good light and / or action - in this case, it was about a 10 hours under the Sausage tree...but worth it later in the evening.
My point: in-camera HDR is worth trying in some circumstances...if only for fun.....beats a totally blown out sky.
Thanks for looking and, "I hate HDR" comments welcome

Love the sausage ornaments Jim and sleeping with the sausages beats sleepin' with the fishes!
I have never tried HDR but this looks promising!

Hey Eric, too bad Central Park is not full of Sausage trees - we'd probably run into each other looking for tails.
Try it sometime - when your Leopard is asleep, frozen or dead......movement be bad.

Looks to me like they are turkey sausages, they put the cat to sleep! I like the shot for middle of the day, works for me

Hey Tim, It's a fun harsh light/high contrast option - and if you like the results on the screen, you can process the raws later more precisely.....Jim
