Only on Tuesday did I get the chance to visit in the evening. After sunset the mosque is lit up and it is open to the public until 10pm. Tripods, inside and out, are allowed and the site is a photography goldmine.
This thread will be a work in progress as I visit over the next 2 months in the evenings (the mosque is on my way home from one of our offices so it's very convenient) but here are my first few sunset and blue hour shots from the site:
We may have to go there after all....do the colours change much with the seasons ??

Thanks Al
We generally have pastel coloured sunsets due to the sandy atmosphere. Winter time is clearer and a light haze rules for 9 months of the year. If you're coming in April then sunset will be around 7pm and you probably won't have any clouds.
This is beautiful! the golden light coming from the corridors just adds so much beauty to picture number 3 but I do believe you could've lessened the intensity of the light coming from the tower in post.
