Oh, My! The colors in the rocks in that first shot are incredible. Beautiful image. Was this one of those 'float boats'? Think I'll plan a trip there for next fall.
Ed, it was part of an all day tour that started from Grand Canyon Airport for fly over of the Grand Canyon as the sun came up, arrive at Page Airport and then to Antelope Slot Canyon, then float thru Glen Canyon back to Lee's Ferry just before the whitewater begins...entire river trip was smooth water and amazingly beautiful. I'll PM you the link to the company we used....well worth the money!
I was really enjoying #1 until #2 appeared and took the wind out of it's sails. Good image-making, Scott, but this is a great example of why it is more powerful to just post the best image of a series of similar ones to allow it to have the most impact. The first one does that. This post needed nothing more, and additional images immediately take away the groove a viewer might be in with the 'one'. Not that this is the final word on this approach, but I have only posted more than one image in a thread about twice in ten years.
Awesome is really an understatement here! I'm too old for an adventure like this now but appreciate how incredible and awe-inspiring these scenes must have been in person. I'm envious! Thanks for sharing this with us. Beautiful work.

I've been on the river below Lee's Ferry- but never above.
This is a gorgeous interpretation of the spectacular red rock wall.
Sounds like a busy day- and a very exciting day.

Thank you Charlie for your comments; seems like handling photo equipment below Lee's Ferry would be a little more technical for sure! Maybe, just maybe, one day I'll find myself giving it a try ;o)
