And as a gesture they offered me a small payment at the end of the night but I wouldn't hear of it. 10% of their budget wouldn't have secured a very highly experienced pro photog at all I can assure you.
Thanks for the clarification. They are to be congratulated for doing a wonderful job with their wedding without spending a lot of money. It sure looks like a posh affair!
As for your coverage, they would have had to spend a lot of money to get someone who would have done a better job! It was a noble gesture on your part to decline their offer of payment. You kept with the spirit of everyone involved.

Thank you for your kind remarks. I'm so glad I was able to do a good job, for a number of reasons. Not least because I am very self critical of anything I do, especially with my photography, so this has been has been a great confidence booster for me. I have considered wedding photography before but never imagined I could cope with the demands of this genre. I like to think I could do an equally good job again.

Congratulations on getting the job done very well. I remember you posting the venue and asking about how to shoot it. You did your home work and it paid off. Your compositions were nicely done as well as your exposure. I believe your images are even better than some that have gotten paid for the job.
It's a shame how B & G will splurge on everything else but photography to completely remember their special day. Maybe if you design an album for them then they'll be purchase it. I think they atleast owe you that much.
Anyways. Awesome job and thanks for sharing the whole experience. I have yet to shoot a wedding.

Thank you. I'm really not interested in any kind of payment, as has been mentioned previously in the thread.
If you're considering doing a wedding I can tell you that it's extremely rewarding but extremely stressful at the same time. :-)

I never say anything on this forum but you did an excellent job for your first wedding. Hopefully your work only gets better.
Wow, thank you very much. I am my own worst critique and as soon as I started processing the photos I was pulling them to pieces and planning what I would do differently next time. Hopefully next time I will do even better.
